TYPES OF LOGOS:

1. Lettermarks (Words & Letters)
If your company name is long, you might consider a monogram logo. They are usually a few letters and simple in design.

2. Wordmarks (Logo Types)
Much like a lettermark, a wordmark differs in that it is a font (typestyle)-based logo that focuses on your business's name. Strong typography combined with a catchy name creates strong brand recognition. If your business name isn't too long, this can be a great choice.

3. Pictorial Mark (Symbol)
These are sometimes referred to as a graphic icon. Once a company becomes well-established, this mark alone is instantly recognizable. This can be tricky for new companies so you will want to include your business name until your company is broadly recognized.

4. Abstract Logo Marks (Geometric Form)
This type of logo is represented by an abstract geometric shape rather than a specific picture. Rather than being restricted to a recognizable image, abstract logos allow you to create something truly unique. Color and form can come together to convey your company symbolically and cultivate emotion and meaning.

5. Mascots (Cartoon-Style Character)
This logo is simply an illustrated character that represents your company. Think of Dave Thomas's Wendy. Mascot logos are always colorful and fun — and sometimes cartoonish — and present a great way for a company to create a brand spokesperson. If you want to appeal to families and children, a mascot logo is a good choice.

6. Combination (Logo & Name)
These logos are a comprised of a graphic and words. They can be organized in a multitude of ways. It's a versatile choice where the components work together to reinforce a brand. Over time, a company can rely on using just the image for brand recognition if it is well-established.

7. The Emblem (Font Inside An Icon)
Think of badges, seals, and crests and you'll have a good idea of an emblem logo. A name is embedded inside a symbol or icon. They are popular with schools, organizations, and government agencies because of their classic style; however, they can be used effectively over many business platforms.
